Aunt Barb and cousin Stacy came by yesterday to visit us. Aunt Barb needed some Abby hugs and kisses. They wanted to see Abby’s curls and I have been keeping her hair in ponytails so it doesn’t get knotted. Michael was saying she looked like Don King, yes this is why she wears ponytails. Most babies don’t have this much hair, when the girls were babies I couldn’t even keep a bow in their hair, it was so thin and not much there.

Abby is such a good baby but lately we have been having some difficult days and nights. I knew she was teething but now she has a tooth partway through her gum. My little pumpkin, is getting her first tooth. Now I know why we have been having some nights of her waking up in the middle of the night and having a hard time getting her back to sleep.

This is little Tristan that I held when I went to China, he had a cleft lip. He has since had his surgery and looks so much older and so sweet. I found out this week that he has a family in the U.S. that will take him home soon. I’m not sure when but I’m sure he will be such a blessing to them and a long-awaited family for him. Not only does he win and get a family to love him and take care of him, but he will give them such joy.

I remember him just smiling, with his cleft lip and all. It didn’t matter, such a sweet happy baby.

We are so thankful to have Abby now every day and to see her growing up everyday. She’s about 15 pounds now and growing out of all her clothes. She is now 6 1/2 months and we see her growing and changing everyday. She is constantly doing new things and it is so amazing that babies have so much to learn and do. How a baby can be in our home or in a home with another language and how these miracles eventually pick it up and learn to talk. I really think it’s a miracle from the moment they are made in their mothers wombs, how they end up being born and grow into little people. Each with their own little personality and way about them, so unique. One of God’s wonderous things.

Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:7

More to come later!
